Church Property: Future Site of Braum’s Restaurant?

Developers for Braum’s Ice Cream and Dairy Stores have shown interest in two acres at 1500 W. Loop 281 in Longview, TX. The site currently houses Sovereign Life Fellowship of Longview (formerly Liberty Baptist Church location).

The church has asked the city’s Planning and Zoning Commission for a permit to build a restaurant with a drive-through window on almost two acres on the church’s property. The land is currently zoned for general retail development. Meanwhile, Longview’s city council has rezoned property on another site in the 1000 block of East Marshall Avenue for a restaurant, which could also hold a Braum’s restaurant.

Though Braum’s developers have shown interest in both sites, the company itself, headquartered in Tuttle, OK, has not yet confirmed its Longview plans.
