Christman Co. Acquires Baylor Scott & White Construction Arm
Christman Co. has acquired MEDCO Construction, the construction arm of Baylor Scott & White. Christman’s acquisition of the Grapevine, TX-headquartered MEDCO allows the Michigan-headquartered company to expand construction services in Texas and surrounding areas. Terms were not disclosed.
MEDCO had previously operated as an in-house construction partner for Baylor Scott & White, the largest not-for-profit healthcare system in Texas. The construction arm had partnered with the healthcare system for more than half a century. Christman sought a strategic partnership in the region, and together with Baylor Scott & White Health, determined the acquisition would be a good fit for both organizations.
“We are confident that Christman will advance MEDCO’s mission of offering exceptional services as a leader in construction,” said Baylor Scott & White’s John McWhorter. MEDCO’s website is now under the Christman brand.
