Christie’s Provides Public Art at 535 Madison
John Chamberlain’s larger-than-life silver aluminum sculpture, ROSETUXEDO, will visit Christie’s Sculpture Garden, located in a public plaza at 535 Madison Ave., an office high-rise in Midtown Manhattan.
“Tenants, tourists, and New Yorkers alike now have the opportunity to appreciate great art in their daily life when visiting 535 Madison Avenue’s sculpture garden,” said Matthew Mayer, executive vice-president of Park Tower Group, the owner, development and manager of the tower.
Executed in 2008, ROSETUXEDO can simultaneously appear to be dancing, walking, and falling, depending on the viewer’s point of view. It will be on display until 2018, and can be acquired through Christie’s Private Sales.
