Chiofaro Kicks Off Phase II of Boston’s International Place

The Chiofaro Company has announced Phase II of the $100 million reinvestment in International Place, a 1.8 million square foot office destination in Boston. In 2023, Chiofaro collaborated with Gensler, OJB, and Columbia Construction on the redevelopment project.

Phase II focuses on renovating the “IP Commons,” Fort Hill Plaza, and the grand entrance, linking Downtown to the Waterfront and Seaport. The reimagined IP Commons will serve as a ‘green heart’ with increased seating, a 55-foot-high water feature, and all-season garden beds. Expanded events will celebrate local arts, culture, and community gatherings.

“When designing these welcoming and vibrant spaces, we felt it was important to establish a central hub, almost like a town square, where new and old connections happen organically,” said Don Chiofaro Jr, vice president of the Chiofaro Company.
