Children’s Medical Center Plano Plans 300K-SF Expansion

Children’s Medical Center Plano announced a 300,000-square-foot expansion to its campus on Preston Road. The new tower is expected to increase patient capacity, and is being built in response to the growing pediatric population in this far north Dallas suburban area.

The new tower will boost the medical center’s total bed count from 70 to 240, with construction costs estimated at several hundred million dollars. The addition will also house expanded specialty care items including cardiology, oncology, orthopedics and gastroenterology.

The pediatric health provider, which opened the Plano campus in 2008, is expected to launch construction on the new tower by the end of 2020, with completion expected by 2023. HKS is the project architect.
