Popcorn and movies? Sure, that’s a thing. Chicken N Pickle(ball) and movies? That’s about to become an option in Glendale, Ariz. Chicken N Pickle is a restaurant and entertainment company that has signed a 20-year lease for approximately 68,000 square feet at Westgate Entertainment District – directly across the street from AMC Westgate 20.

Chicken N Pickle’s two-story project will include a restaurant and sports bar, 10 pickleball courts and an outdoor entertainment area. The new fun is expected to open in 2023.

The company was represented in the transaction by Kidder Mathews Senior Vice President Chuck Wells, who represents the expansion needs of restaurant, entertainment, and hospitality clients.

Pickleball is a cross between tennis, ping pong and badminton (video). Chicken is a farmyard fowl. 

“We won’t need to introduce pickleball to many people in the Phoenix metro area. The sport is rapidly growing nationally, but Phoenix is a hotspot for pickleball. We’re excited about that,” said Chase Watson, Chicken N Pickle Senior Vice President of Development.
