Chicago’s Largest Spec Industrial Development Hits Milestone
Chicago’s largest speculative industrial project since the Central Manufacturing District (CMD) broke ground in 1905 has reached a key construction milestone. Walls started going up last week on Marina Crossings, a 35-acre development along Pershing Road, off the I-55 Stevenson Expressway.
The infill project, sits just blocks away from the historic CMD in the McKinley Park/Stockyards area of Chicago, a one-of-a-kind urban area renowned for its rich industrial history. The rail-served property comprises more than 633,000 square feet of state-of-the-art industrial space that features 32-foot ceilings, cross docking, precast construction, and ample expandable car and trailer parking.
The entire development is slated to be completed in Q4 2018, and is a joint venture between MAT Limited Partnership and institutional investors advised by J.P. Morgan Asset Management. Cushman & Wakefield represents the landlord, and is handling the project’s leasing assignment.
