- Reagan Pratt, a senior executive with more than 30 years of commercial real estate experience, has been named the Douglas and Cynthia Crocker Endowed Director of The Real Estate Center at DePaul University. Pratt is responsible for building and expanding The Center through outreach to the real estate community in Chicago and across the U.S. Pratt also joins the DePaul faculty and will teach classes with an emphasis on finance, capital markets and investments.
- PACE Loan Group‘s COO, Bali Kumar, has been elected as Board Chair for the Minnesota Climate Innovation Finance Authority (MNCIFA). During their 2023 session, the Minnesota Legislature passed several bills that founded the MNCIFA, which aims to stimulate clean energy technology and greenhouse gas reduction initiatives throughout the state.
- Spark, a Chicago-based environmental branding firm, has expanded its teams with the addition of Zak Jacobs. Jacobs brings experience and strategic insight to Spark, and he will expand the firm’s commercial staging capabilities to include offices, amenity spaces, commercial spaces, greenery installations and seasonal staging.
- Bank of America has announced that a record-breaking field is anticipated for the 2024 Bank of America Chicago Marathon. More than 50,000 participants are expected to cross the finish line in Grant Park next October. Since 2002, the race’s Charity Program has generated more than $322 million for causes worldwide, and in 2023, it raised $30.4 million, the highest in the event’s history.
- Two Chicago-based food retail brands, Foxtrot Market and Dom’s Kitchen & Market, plan to merge. After the deal closes, the companies plan to operate under a new entity, Outfox Hospitality. Foxtrot CEO Liz Williams will become the new company’s CEO, with Don Fitzgerald, Dom’s current CEO, serving as Dom’s president and chief operating officer through a transition period.
- Willow Bridge Property Company has announced that Domain CityGate, the company’s residential development completed in 2022, was awarded the Multifamily Development of the Year at the NAIOP Chicago 36th Annual Awards for Excellence. Domain CityGate is a 285-unit apartment community situated at 2132 City Gate Lane, Naperville, Illinois.
- Second Century Ventures, the strategic investment arm of the Chicago-headquartered National Association of Realtors, has opened applications today for the 2024 U.S. REACH technology growth program. SCV operates the REACH program across North and South America, Europe, Australia and Asia-Pacific.
