  • CBRE has hired Jason Zyck to its Chicago office as a vice president, joining the Multifamily Investment Sales team of John Jaeger and Justin Puppi. “Our Chicago CBRE Multifamily Investment Sales team is thrilled Jason joined our team,” said Jaeger. “Jason’s experience and knowledge of the multifamily market will benefit our clients as we continue to advise and assist them with their investment strategies.” Zyck joins CBRE from JLL, where he served as an associate specializing in multifamily investment sales.
  • Farbman Group, a full-service commercial real estate company, recently welcomed four new team members. “As the company continues to expand, we are thrilled to welcome four new employees to our team,” said Andrew V. Farbman, CEO of Farbman Group. “Each of the new team members brings unique capabilities and professional experience that will support the firm in achieving its goals.”
    • Alex Harris will serve as property manager for Farbman Group’s New Center One building in Detroit and its Metro Place Properties in Columbus, Ohio. Previously, he was a construction manager and oversaw all facets of numerous large-scale capital projects.
    • Tim Welch joins the firm as Field Operations Supervisor for Apex Mechanical Solutions, Farbman Group’s HVAC sister company. Previously, Welch worked as a director of engineering in the hotel industry.
    • Tarek Lasker was hired to support the accounting department as a staff accountant. Most recently, he worked in New York as a fund accountant for a fund administration company.
    • Danielle Griffin will serve as an intern for the company’s accounting department. She is a student at Farmington Hills High School and plans to advance to a university to acquire her bachelor’s in accounting. 
  • Radina Dimova has joined Kiser Group as an advisor, contributing with her knowledge and expertise to better serve investors, property owners, and developers in the Northwest suburbs of Chicago. With a background as a real estate investor, Radina brings a unique perspective that allows her to understand the intricacies of the local market.
  • Entre Commercial Realty announced that the Association of Industrial Real Estate Brokers (AIRE) has recognized Sam Deihs as the recipient of the Frank Mahoney Award for 2022. The Frank Mahoney Award recognizes outstanding leadership, community service and real estate brokerage success among young industrial real estate professionals with less than five years of experience. Deihs joined Entre in 2018 and has been an instrumental part of the growth and development of his team. He has become a consistent producer respected by clients and colleagues while helping mentor other brokers in the firm. Deihs joins Entre’s Mike DeSerto and Cory Kay as recipients of the award, marking Entre’s third winner in the past seven years.
  • CORFAC International recently named the winners of the 2023 Member Excellence Awards at the firm’s Fall Summit in Detroit, Michigan. “Our Member Excellence Awards recognize the individuals who have made substantial contributions to CORFAC, helping to make us the best global network for independent brokerage firms in commercial real estate,” said Hayim Mizrachi, CCIM, President of MDL Group/CORFAC International.
    • Daniel Shindleman, CCIM, MRICS, Principal of Bridgemer AG/CORFAC International in Wollerau, Switzerland, was recognized with the Charlie King MVP Award. Selected each year by the CORFAC President, the award recipient is considered the president’s most valuable player during the past 12 months.
    • Brody Cohen of Capacity Commercial/CORFAC International in Portland, Oregon, was recognized with this distinction this year. The Thomas B. Hayes Jr. Award is given to a member who has made creative and unique contributions to the network.
  • Friedman Real Estate’s Greg Hornby recently completed the sale of the 24,250 square foot Sportsman’s Den & Orlando’s Banquet Hall located at 15001 Sibley Road in Riverview, Michigan. Friedman represented the purchaser, Jeremy Syrocki, who will reopen the location as The Sand Trap restaurant, and the banquet hall will be named the One/Nine. Syrocki owns numerous restaurants, including Truago, Mamacitas, and Rocky’s Roadhouse in Trenton, Arnold’s Diner in Brownstown, Major Biddle’s in Wyandotte, and Lloyds in Grosse Ile.
  • The Lincoln Park Builders of Chicago recently held its 34th annual Real Estate Forum. Over 1,000 attendees gathered at Theater on the Lake in Lincoln Park for an evening of networking and a panel discussion titled “City of Neighborhoods – Challenges, Opportunities and What’s to Come.” The event also honored the achievements of J. Michael Drew, founding principal of Structured Development, who received the organization’s Impact Award for his significant contributions to the growth of the city. Ron DeVries, senior managing director of Integra Realty Resources-Chicago, served as the keynote speaker. The panel discussion was moderated by Steve Fifield, founder and CEO of Fifield Companies, with panelists including Impact Award recipient Drew, as well as Corey Oliver, CEO of Strength in Management; Frank Campise, principal at JAB Real Estate; and Matt Garrison, CEO of R2 Companies.
