Colliers has added Jim Rock, CCIM, as senior vice president and Suzanne Schefcik, as vice president, to its Retail Services Group. The duo will advise clients across the region, offering expertise in leasing, acquisitions and dispositions, and strategic real estate planning. Rock and Schefcik join Colliers from Avison Young where they led the firm’s capital markets and retail efforts in Minneapolis with a special focus on net lease, automotive, and strip center real estate.

Poplar Homes announced that industry veteran Sean Story has joined the company as executive vice president to oversee the leadership of its multifamily management and leasing portfolio, which currently operates under the 33 Realty and Zendoor banners. In this newly created role based in Chicago, Story will build on 33 Realty and Zendoor’s relationships, systems and processes to scale Poplar’s multifamily division nationwide. He will also have oversight across leasing, property management, maintenance, and business development. Story arrives from Chicago-based 3L Real Estate, where, as COO, he led operations for a multi-state portfolio that included more than 2,000 units and 50 employees.

SF Capital, the commercial mortgage banking subsidiary of Friedman Real Estate, has welcomed Aaron Stempel to the company as vice president of loan origination. In his new role, he will be tasked with sourcing financing transactions across the entire capital stack, encompassing both equity and debt placement, including refinancing, acquisitions, construction, and bridge opportunities. Stempel brings over ten years of CRE financing experience, predominantly in multifamily financing.

Kiser Group’s Aaron Sklar and Noah Birk have collectively sold 50 buildings and 988 units year-to-date, with a total closed volume of $90 million. This is the seventh consecutive year the duo has marked the achievement of selling a minimum of 50 apartment buildings. “This year’s success is a reflection of our commitment to our clients and the Chicago real estate market,” said Sklar. Added Kirk, “Our goal is to continue exceeding expectations, and we look forward to delivering even more exceptional results in the years to come.”
