    • Honigman LLP announced today that David J. Axelson has joined its Corporate Department as a partner in the firm’s Finance Practice Group. Based in Detroit, Axelson specializes in acquisition financings, leveraged buyouts, recapitalizations, cash-flow and asset-based credit facilities, and debt restructurings. He works with private equity sponsors, portfolio companies, and corporate borrowers in a broad range of finance transactions.
    • GI Stone, a commercial stone fabrication and installation firm, announced Jennifer Gee has joined the company as director of special projects. She most recently served as project manager of McHugh Construction’s celebrated renovation of the newly opened Ramova Theatre, and Gee will oversee GI’s institutional projects. Gee started as a project manager for several Chicago-based firms before landing at McHugh Construction in 2012. There, she managed a variety of projects for clients ranging from American Airlines to The Peninsula Chicago.
    • Colliers today announced that it has hired four new specialized multifamily team members to its office in the Twin Cities. This sales team, consisting of Mox Gunderson, Josh Talberg, Dan Linnell and Adam Haydon, will work alongside the Colliers Mortgage team led by Tony Carlson and Chris Perry. Each will hold the title of executive vice president. Before joining the Colliers team, the team helped build JLL’s Capital Markets Group in Minneapolis, representing clients in multifamily transactions totaling $3.5 billion since 2018.
    • Wes Martin, a native of West Milton, Ohio, is strategically transitioning from the NFL to partner with Dayton real estate brokerage Coldwell Banker Heritage. With a five-year NFL career, including a fourth-round draft pick and numerous NFL game starts, Established in 1967, Coldwell Banker Heritage is Dayton’s leading real estate firm with a 50-year legacy. The brokerage specializes in multi-family, retail, office, light industrial, mix-use, land and development property.
    • Kiser Group announces the promotion of Noah Clark to the position of advisor. With this promotion, Noah will work alongside Jack Petrando with clients in Chicago’s West Side. His responsibilities encompass guiding clients through the intricacies of buying and selling multifamily buildings, conducting thorough property valuations, coordinating showings, and proficiently underwriting deals.
    • Kiser Group’s Birk Sklar Team closed ten deals in the month of February of 2024. Led by partners Noah Birk and Aaron Sklar, the team’s exceptional dedication and expertise have once again secured remarkable success in the competitive real estate market. “High interest rates have pushed investors from around the country to flock to Chicago in search of yield on their capital,” said Birk. Sklar added, “Closing ten deals in a single month is a remarkable achievement and underscores our commitment to delivering exceptional results for our clients.”
    • Farbman Group, a Midwest full-service commercial real estate company, announced today the promotion of Michael Kalil to the position of Chief Revenue Officer in addition to his current Chief Operating Officer position. Kalil will focus on the firm’s receivership and distressed asset repositioning services, as well as brokerage and construction management opportunities. Kalil has decades of experience as a court-appointed receiver and has served as an asset manager of distressed assets for regional banks, life insurance companies, and special servicers.
    • Intersect Illinois today announced three new board members that will help advance its mission to attract investment and jobs to Illinois: Michael Fassnacht, Chief Growth Officer and President of Clayco’s Chicagoland Region; Kristi Lafleur, CEO of Skyway Concession Company; and Mark Denzler, President and CEO of the Illinois Manufacturers’ Association. These appointees bring a wealth of experience in economic development and public-private partnerships.
    • Regency Properties announced the promotion of Mishelle Conti, Ky Gray, and Lisa Parsons. In her new role, Conti will maintain responsibility for providing feedback, guidance, and strategic planning for leasing activity throughout the portfolio. Gray has been promoted to assistant treasury manager and will be assisting with forecasting, liquidity, capital, escrows, and account management. Parsons has been promoted to senior manager of lease administration and will be responsible for preparing and maintaining the flow of lease agreements and other documentation.
    • Tony Talerico has joined SF Capital, the commercial mortgage banking subsidiary of Friedman Real Estate, as vice president of loan origination. In his new role, Talerico will be tasked with sourcing financing transactions across the entire capital stack, encompassing both equity and debt placement, including refinancing, acquisitions, construction, and bridge opportunities. He brings 38 years of professional experience, predominantly focused on commercial mortgage banking, having been involved in over $4 billion of commercial mortgage financings and over 1,000 closed transactions.
