  • Brinkmann Constructors has hired Mark Spraul as a Project Executive in the St. Louis, Missouri office. With more than 30 years in construction and extensive project experience in building facilities for end users such as Amazon, Chewy, Walmart and Caterpillar, Spraul is focused on Brinkmann’s growth in the industrial sector, with an emphasis on cold storage, food and beverage and manufacturing facilities.
  • Kansas City, Missouri-based Newmark Zimmer celebrated its 75th anniversary in 2023, navigating a challenging year for commercial real estate. Despite industry hurdles, Newmark Zimmer completed another successful year of business and is pleased to announce the promotion of several professionals on the sales and leasing team, including:
    • Scott Bluhm was elevated to senior managing director.
    • Tommy Gentry and Trey DeRousse were elevated to director.
    • Kassie Murphy, Nicole Gutesha, Hugh Riley and Billy Spence were promoted to associate director.
    • Raegen Root was promoted to senior financial analyst.
    • Oak Brook-based Pine Tree announced its promotion of Michael Slusky to Executive Vice President, Director of Leasing, and Alex Corno to Vice President, Leasing. Slusky will continue to oversee Pine Tree’s leasing activity across the United States. Corno will continue to oversee leasing activities for a large portion of Pine Tree’s national portfolio of shopping centers.
    • Big-D Construction, a construction management and design-build services firm, has promoted Cory Schubert to the role of president of the company’s Midwest office in St. Paul, Minnesota. He was promoted to vice president of operations in 2016 before becoming senior vice president and managing director of the office in 2022.
    • The Chicago Chapter of the Society of Industrial and Office Realtors (SIOR) and the SIOR Foundation recently awarded its 2023 Len Caldeira Scholarships totaling $12,000 to four deserving students: Jordyn Dellis from the University of Wisconsin-Madison; Christian Krull from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign; Xavier Papillon from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign; and Anna Zimmerman from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Each of the students received a scholarship of $3,000 presented by SIOR Chicago 2023 Scholarship Committee members Sergio Chapa, SIOR of Newmark and Denise Chaimovitz, SIOR of Paine Wetzel.
    • Clear Height Properties completed 34 new and renewal leases totaling 523,000 SF in Q4 2023, bringing the total to 1,289,000 square feet leased in 2023. Significant transactions in the fourth quarter of 2023 included:
      • A 290,573-square-foot lease with a regional HVAC contractor. The tenant was represented by Mike Semon with NAI Ohio Equities, and Nick Tomasone, Joe Davis, and Josh Weithman represented Clear Height.
      • A 60,000-square-foot renewal and consolidation with iCanvas, an e-commerce printing company specializing in canvas art prints. The tenant was represented by Marat Safir with TMG Real Estate Advisors.
      • A 30,000-square-foot renewal was completed with March, a food service equipment sales company that has been in Addison for over 30 years.
      • A 23,000-square-foot renewal with the largest lawn treatment company in the United States. The tenant was represented by Aaron Sommer, Elise Couston, and Jimena Sayavedra with Newmark.
