Chicago MF Mila Tower on the Market Again

Chicago developer John Buck is looking to sell his 42-story apartment building, Mila Chicago. The property, located on Michigan Avenue, had previously been part of a deal to with the 402-unit tower last year, but the transaction fell through, according to Crain’s Chicago Business.

The sale comes at a precarious time as Chicago navigates decreased lender interest in the city’s downtown real estate and higher interest rates that provide challenges for prospective buyers.

The Mila project venture led by Buck began construction in 2014, with the first residents moving into the building in 2016. Newmark’s Senior Managing Director Elizabeth Gagliardi is marketing Mila for sale, reported Crain’s.

The John Buck Company has made investments in assets comprising more than $8 billion of gross value and acquired, developed, or redeveloped more than 47 million square feet of office, residential, and mixed-use properties.
