Chicago Fire Returns to Soldier Field for 2020 Season
The Chicago Fire Soccer Club will return to Soldier Field to play their home games starting in 2020. SeatGeek Stadium in suburban Bridgeview, IL has been home to the Fire since 2006, and the team will continue to utilize the stadium as a training facility and headquarters for Chicago Fire Youth development programs.
“Our Club needs to be located centrally where all of Chicago can enjoy it,” said Joe Manuseto, Chicago Fire owner and general manager. “Soldier Field is the perfect location.”
Mansueto cited the examples of Seattle, Portland, Los Angeles and Atlanta. “Their Major League Soccer teams are bringing their cities together and have become an important part of the cultural fabric of the city,” he said. “We will make that happen for Chicago, too.”
The new agreement is for an initial term of three years, with two additional three-year terms and two additional one-year terms.
Connect Chicago Fall 2019 will take place Oct. 29 in Chicago. For more information, or to register, click here.
