Chevy Chase Lake West Plan Enters Next Phase

The Chevy Chase Land Company and Bozzuto received preliminary plan approval for “Block A” or Chevy Chase Lake West, the next phase of their transit-oriented mixed-use project.

Located at 8550 Connecticut Ave., adjacent to Bethesda, the project spans approximately 16 acres, tied to a forthcoming Purple Line rail transit station. The current development already houses retail spaces and residential buildings like The Barrett, The Claude, and the Ritz Carlton condominiums, hosting tenants including Amazon Fresh.

This phase aims to replace an underutilized area with a 220-unit multifamily-over-retail building, incorporating townhouse-style apartments and up to 28 dwelling units. Alongside residential offerings, it plans to introduce 19,000 square feet of retail and commercial space.
