Cheniere Moves HQ Two Blocks, to Texas Tower
The liquified natural gas exporter has leased 151,490 square feet of the new tower, the most significant office lease in Houston in over a year. Cheniere will take up four floors, that will include 16,000 square feet of private gardens and a 700 square-foot outdoor terrace just for Cheniere employees and visitors.
The company is moving out of Houston landmark Pennzoil Place, about two blocks away. The 47-story Texas Tower, which was completed during the pandemic, has reached 70% occupancy. It was developed by Hines and Canadian-firm Ivanhoé Cambridge.
Cheniere’s Jack Fusco says leaving town was not an option, “Through the years and through the pandemic, Cheniere has remained committed to retaining a Downtown Houston presence that provides the best working environment for our team.” In order to foster collaboration, he added that the company does not permit remote work or workers to telecommute.
