Charter School Network Expands to Moinian’s Brooklyn Project

The Moinian Group  and Bushburg Properties leased a total of 45,000 square feet to Friends of Ascend Charter Schools to serve as the home for Lefferts Gardens Ascend Lower School. The Brooklyn-based charter school network will expand its portfolio to Moinian’s PLG, the company’s new luxury residential tower at 123 Linden Blvd. in Brooklyn.

Jack Mordekai represented The Moinian Group, and William P. O’Brien, SIOR, of M.C. O’Brien, Inc. represented Ascend in the deal.

“We feel confident that this space will provide a high-quality learning environment that meets all the needs of this high-achieving charter network and its students,” said Joseph Moinian, founder and CEO of The Moinian Group.

Situated at the nexus of Brooklyn’s Prospect Lefferts Gardens and Flatbush neighborhoods, PLG marks The Moinian Group’s first development in Brooklyn. Co-developed with Bushburg Properties, the property contains 467 rental units ranging from studio to three-bedroom.
