Charter School Inks 35-Year Lease with Tishman Speyer in Downtown Brooklyn

Tishman Speyer has inked a long-term agreement with Brooklyn Prospect Charter School to establish a new high school campus within The Wheeler, its 10-story development located at 422 Fulton St. in Downtown Brooklyn. As part of a 35-year lease, Brooklyn Prospect will occupy over 150,000 square feet across three floors.

Brooklyn Prospect’s new campus will feature more than 25,000 square feet of programmable outdoor space across all three floors and a dedicated lobby entrance.  The school will create a double-height gymnasium with a full-size basketball court.

“We are pleased to welcome Brooklyn Prospect to The Wheeler,” said Tishman Speyer senior managing director Chris Shehadeh. “With its prime location, high ceilings and large flexible floorplates, The Wheeler has proven to be a great fit for some of Brooklyn’s leading educational institutions.”

Brooklyn Prospect Charter School was represented by Ross Kaplan and Justin DiMare of Newmark. Tishman Speyer was represented in-house by Megan Sheehan and a CBRE team of Mary Ann Tighe, Gerry Miovski, Joe Cirone, Zac Price and Masha Dudelzak.
