Charming Charlie Shuttering All Stores

Charming Charlie, the Houston-based women’s fashion accessory retailer, filed for bankruptcy for the second time in two years. In addition, the company announced it would close all 260 stores in 38 states. Sales on the retailer’s website have discontinued, while store liquidations are underway.

In a Delaware bankruptcy court filing, Charming Charlie indicated it had only $6,000 in cash on hand. While the retailer attempted to pursue other methods of funding, the company’s Chief Financial Officer, Alvaro Bellon, indicated that the sources weren’t available on the timeline needed.

He added that the “continuing decline of physical consumer traffic” to its brick-and-mortar stores was the main reason for the demise.

Charming Charlie had filed for bankruptcy in 2017; after announcing it would close stores and cut jobs.
