Chargers Closer to Staying at Home
Maybe the San Diego Chargers won’t move to the Los Angeles area.
The San Diego City Council approved $2.1 million for fast-track environmental studies that would help the NFL team pursue the construction of a facility in San Diego County. A public vote in January would be the next step for approval of a new stadium
.
However, team officials have said that there would not be enough time for a comprehensive environmental review before the vote. Additionally, if the NFL delays its decision on whether or not the Los Angeles suburbs Carson and Inglewood are suitable sites, a public vote on the facility would be delayed until next year.
