Chan Zuckerberg Initiative Signs Full-Building Lease with IQHQ

IQHQ, Inc. has finalized a 225,000-square-foot lease with the Chan Zuckerberg Initiative (CZI) at IQHQ’s Elco Yards district in Redwood City. CZI will fully occupy The Shop, one of four buildings at Elco Yards, as part of its future work in science.

Elco Yards is a mixed-use development project that began construction in 2021. The site features four buildings offering lab, office and retail space to be delivered in phases between mid-2025 and 2026. The project is currently more than 30% pre-leased, with CZI expected to take occupancy in 2027. Cushman & Wakefield’s Ben Paul oversees office leasing at the project.

“We are thrilled to announce IQHQ’s new partnership with the Chan Zuckerberg Initiative at Elco Yards,” said Tracy Murphy, co-CEO and co-founder of IQHQ. “With our state-of-the-art district in this vibrant life science market, IQHQ is uniquely positioned to support CZI’s critical, groundbreaking work that pushes the boundaries of scientific research and fosters the innovation of life-changing advancements in health and disease management.”
