CenterPoint Leases New Distribution Center to 3PL
CenterPoint Properties has signed a long-term lease with RJW Logistics Group, a Romeoville-based 3PL, for its state-of-the-art 976,954-square-foot distribution center at 2903 Schweitzer Road in Joliet, Illinois.
NAI Hiffman’s Dan Leahy and Adam Roth represented CenterPoint, as they do for all CIC – Joliet/Elwood leases. 2903 Schweitzer Road is adjacent to the newly built Houbolt Road Extension bridge over the Des Plaines River, minutes from interstates 80 & 55 and the Union Pacific’s intermodal facility – one of the centerpieces of the CenterPoint Intermodal Center, along with the BNSF intermodal a few miles south in Elwood, IL.
“We were confident in the functionality, location, and aesthetics of this building,” said CenterPoint’s senior vice president of development for the Central Region, Brian McKiernan. “We set a high bar and challenged our team as well as our construction and brokerage partners, and they exceeded expectations on the CIC’s flagship development and lease-up.”
RJW, a third-party logistics company for packaged goods retailers, employs more than 1,600 people in the Chicago and Dallas areas.
