Celina Hospital Construction Start Days Away
It used to take 45 minutes for citizens of Celina to get to the nearest Dallas hospital. Construction begins any day on a new hospital which will pare that number back to five minutes.
The $200 million Methodist Health System hospital, set to start work on 46.7 acres of land, has been given a projected open date for early 2025.
The system plans to start with a four-story, 192,000-square-foot full-service acute care hospital. That includes 78 inpatient beds, with 48 finished out and with shell space to add 30 more. That also includes 30 medical-surgical beds, 10 post-partum beds, eight ICU beds, 16 emergency room beds, four labor and delivery suites, two c-section rooms, three operating rooms (with shell space to eventually add one more) and a cardiac catheterization lab.
The hospital campus will also include a separate 40,000 square-foot medical office building and 420 surface parking spaces. The center is expected to employ roughly 325 staff by year two of operations.
