CBRE to Relocate Corporate HQ to Dallas

Los Angeles-based CBRE Group is planning to relocate its corporate headquarters to Dallas. The move to Texas by the U.S.’s largest commercial real estate firm is largely window dressing, since not many jobs are expected to transfer from Los Angeles to Texas, and Dallas has served as a key corporate office for several years.

CBRE’s Lew Horne says, “Designating Dallas as CBRE’s global corporate headquarters formalizes how our company has been operating for the past eight years. We have more than 5,000 employees in California and only an extremely small number of operations-related roles are expected to migrate over time to Dallas. No client-facing roles will be affected, so California clients will continue to receive the same high level of service they expect from CBRE.”

CBRE’s new corporate HQ in North Texas will be at 2100 McKinney Ave., a more than 360,000-square-foot building in the Uptown/Turtle Creek submarket (pictured). The company has more than 100,000 employees spread across some 530 offices and its CEO, Robert Sulentic, already splits time between Dallas and Los Angeles. The company’s development arm, Trammell Crow Co. is also based in Dallas at the same building.
