CBRE Tapped to Take Former Rensselaer Hartford Campus to Market

The Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute has retained CBRE as its exclusive advisor in the disposition of its Hartford, CT campus. The site is being marketed as a mixed-use development site and is for sale without a formal asking price.

“Rensselaer has proudly been a part of the greater Hartford community for nearly 68 years,” said Dr. Aric Krause, Rensselaer’s dean of academic and administrative affairs. “With the sale of our building, we look forward to finding a new physical Hartford location that is better aligned to our current needs.”

The 12.69-acre site at 275 Windsor Street includes an eight-story classroom building and amphitheater, as well as a four-story parking garage structure and surface parking together offering more than 860 spaces.

“We believe there will be significant interest from both developers and end users due to the site’s excellent location next to Dunkin’ Donuts Park, immediate highway accessibility and strong demand for multifamily and retail amenities in the Hartford market,” said John McCormick and Anna Kocsondy of CBRE.
