CBRE Hired to Lease Adaptive Reuse Office in Detroit Suburbs

CBRE was hired by The Surnow Company as the listing agent for The Jeffery, a 24,000-square-foot office property at 191 N. Chester St. in Birmingham, MI, a Detroit suburb. Brendan George and Jasper Hanifi will handle the listing for CBRE.

The Jeffery is an adaptive reuse project, transforming a 1926 church into a modern, office building that can cater to one user or multiple tenants. The completed project will deliver in late fourth-quarter 2019.

“This is a one-of-a-kind project that will offer much-needed office space to the popular Birmingham market in a completely unique and efficient setting,” said George.

Hanifi said, “There are few opportunities like this in the Detroit market that will offer new, Class A office space in the heart of a thriving downtown setting. This project will test rents for the entire market and will likely achieve as much as $50 a square foot.”
