CBRE Global Investors Fund Acquires Fremont Buildings
A fund advised by Los Angeles-based CBRE Global Investors has acquired a two-building, Class A, R&D/manufacturing property in Fremont, totaling 199,352 square feet. The buildings are fully leased to SolarCity, an industry-leading renewable energy firm that manufactures solar panels.
Located at 47700 Kato Rd. and 1055 Page Ave., the site fronts the I-880 freeway, is in close proximity to three major airports and the Port of Oakland, and has access to Silicon Valley’s “Golden Triangle.”
Both buildings, which are critical-use facilities for the tenant, have recently undergone extensive interior, structural, and mechanical upgrades. The improvements were largely self-funded, to meet state-of-the-art R&D/manufacturing specifications customized to its needs.
