CBRE Fully Pre-Leases New SDSU Housing Development
Topaz, a mixed-use student housing development under construction near San Diego State University, has been fully pre-leased by CBRE’s Reg Kobzi, Joel Wilson and Michael Peterson. The team represented Pierce Education Properties as the landlord in the leases totaling 10,000 square feet on the ground floor of the building scheduled to open this summer.
“This project is another great addition to the college-area revitalization and transformation,” said Kobzi. “As a former Aztec, I am happy to make it all happen.” The leases include Handel’s Homemade Ice Cream, The Alley, Jimmy John’s, Dunkin’ Donuts as well as the relocation of the original McDonald’s restaurant.
Located on Montezuma Road, the seven-story, 169-bed building is designed by Wolden Design and KTGY Architecture and Planning while Cannon Constructors South is the project’s general contractor. CBRE research indicates the San Diego retail market saw increasing leasing activity in the 4th quarter of 2022, with the lowest vacancies since 2019.
