CBL Unwraps Redeveloped Sears Space in Milwaukee Suburb

CBL Properties cut the ribbon on the Sears redevelopment at Brookfield Square in Milwaukee’s Brookfield, WI suburb. Construction on the REIT’s approximately 120,000-square-foot project, which included razing the entire Sears building, began in April 2018 and delivered new-to-market dining, entertainment, and other uses to the property.

“We are thrilled to introduce WhirlyBall and Movie Tavern by Marcus to Wisconsin at Brookfield Square,” said CBL president Michael Lebovitz. “These dynamic uses are part of CBL’s strategy to transition our properties from traditional malls to suburban town centers.”

Lebovitz added, “These entertainment venues, coupled with additional dining options, retail, medical office and fitness, as well as the City of Brookfield’s future hotel and conference center, further solidify Brookfield Square as a destination in the market.”

Chattanooga, TN-based CBL purchased the Sears building at Brookfield Square with a portfolio of four other Sears buildings and two Sears Auto Centers in January 2017.
