CBI Retail Opens 19K-SF Duty Free Shop

CBI Retail Ventures opened its largest airport project to date: A 19,000-square-foot, two-level duty-free store inside Dallas-Fort Worth International’s Terminal D. The project is the Fort Worth-based developer’s largest duty-free store in the Western Hemisphere.

In addition to offering goods, the two-story shop also provides two executive mezzanine lounges, multiple work stations and tasting bars, VIP concierge services and sculptures by artist James Surls. Goods offered include luxury brands and local products including TX Whiskey, Bohlin and Askinosie Chocolate. Also on hand is an “immersive” promotional pod with floor-to-ceiling digital monitors.

CBI Retail Ventures’ Steve Flory indicated that the space represents a first-of-its kind immersive store experience, adding that “the end result reflects the convergences of entertainment and retail, as well as the merger of digital and physical experiences.”
