Cawley Chicago Client Trades One Warehouse for Another

Cawley Chicago completed the sale and purchase of two facilities on behalf of 3rd Coast Mattress Recycling (aka Chicago Mattress Co. [CMC]) in expanding its business on Chicago’s West side. Principal Frank Melchert and VP Stevan Arandjelovic represented CMC in the sale of its 100,000-square-foot facility at 4444 Ohio St. to an undisclosed buyer.

Melchert and Arandjelovic then aided CMC in purchasing a 170,000-square-foot building at 600 N. Kilbourn Ave. The seller of 600 N. Kilbourn Ave was represented by Vern Schultz with Colliers International.

“This was a great opportunity for a longtime Chicago company to grow and expand their business, while maintaining their employee base here in Chicago,” said Melchert. “For the same reason CMC wanted to stay in Chicago, the buyer of their property wanted to enter the Chicago market. Access to good employees and proximity to Chicago’s customer density was the primary catalyst for these transactions.”
