Chicago-based real estate investment firm Northpond Partners has acquired the Preston Corners shopping center in Cary, NC for $13.2 million

Cary, NC Shopping Center Sells for $13M

Chicago-based real estate investment firm Northpond Partners, operating as NP Preston Corners LLC, has acquired the Preston Corners shopping center in Cary, NC, for $13.2 million. The seller was Canadian insurance company Sun Life Assurance Co. of Canada, which had owned the shopping center since 1995. It was remodeled in 2001.

Preston Corners has 42,755 square feet of retail space located on 8.54 acres at 940 High House Road near Fred G. Bond Park and Prestonwood Country Club. It’s anchored by Lowes Foods and is also home to Kung Fu Tea, Loren Dean Designs, Miso Ramen Bar, Skrimp Shack, and The Little Gym of Cary. 

Other Northpond projects in the area include retail redevelopment in Glenwood South, South Hills Mall, and Gateway Plaza in Raleigh. Last year the company acquired five lots for $31.5 million at Falls River Town Center in Raleigh.

About Angela Noote

Angela Noote is a native of Northern California and graduated from Chico State with a degree in public relations. After college she moved to the Central Coast and worked first in ad sales then in editorial, eventually spending more than a decade as a print reporter and editor. She detoured into design work at a printer/publisher, and with a partner eventually opened a boutique full-service marketing agency. Moving into corporate communications, she built and managed several successful marketing teams in the hospitality, financial services, and nonprofit industries. Most recently she was an internal comms manager in the tech sector. After a long stint spent in Georgia (Go Dawgs), she moved to Baton Rouge, LA and has written for clients in the financial, luxury imports, higher ed, commercial cleaning, and medical equipment industries. Her son is a media arts major at the University of South Carolina, and her husband owns a comedy theater in Baton Rouge, where you can often find Angi teaching improv classes, leading corporate training events, or doing an occasional stand up set.
