Carver Finds New Headquarters Space in Harlem

Having arranged last month’s $19.45-million sale of Carver Federal Savings Bank’s headquarters building on 125th Street, Madison Square Realty has now found new space for the nation’s largest African-American-owned bank. Carver has leased 20,000 square feet at 1825 Park Ave., a deal that enables the bank to maintain its Harlem presence.

MSR founder Eric Yarbro said the relocation was especially significant in that Carver not only engaged his firm, a full-service Minority Business Enterprise, but also hired one of the nation’s largest African-American-owned architectural firms to design the new space at 1825 Park. For its part, Savanna has tapped one of New York State’s largest African-American-owned construction firms to build out the space.

”We believe that following Savanna’s improvements to the property, we are offering the best office space in Harlem, a fitting home for a deeply-rooted institution like Carver Federal Savings Bank,” said Savanna’s Kerry Powers.
