Caruso Reveals Refined Vision for Palisades Village
Los Angeles-based Caruso Affiliated unveiled its updated vision for Palisades Village, a 116,000-square-foot redevelopment in Pacific Palisades. The retail developer is revitalizing a 3.1-acre site into a new main street, featuring a collection of small, charming storefronts and restaurants, as well as a centerpiece park.
Caruso seeks to create a comfortable neighborhood gathering place, oriented on and around Swarthmore Ave., through a series of one-and two-story buildings. There’s also plans to revive the shuttered Bay Theater, with five screens and 300 seats, as it closed in 1978.
The demolition of existing buildings began last year and completion expected in late 2017.The architect is Boston-based Elkus Manfredi Architects.
