Rick Caruso, the real estate developer known for being the head of Caruso Affiliated and developing such projects as The Grove, one of the best-known retail-entertainment centers in the country, is giving back to the community.

Caruso, and his wife Tina are giving $25 million to the University of Southern California and starting the Tina and Rick Caruso Department of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery and the Caruso Family Center for Childhood Communication.

The Carusos are involved in the cause for personal reasons. Their 15-year-old daughter suffers from mild hearing loss and was treated at USC, where Caruso went to school.
