Carter, Stafford to Develop 115-Room Aloft Hotel in Summerhill

Developer Carter, in partnership with commercial real estate firm Stafford, have announced plans to develop a 115-room Aloft Hotel in Summerhill.

The boutique-style hotel will be located on Hank Aaron Drive, adjacent to the recently- completed, 676-bed student housing project by Aspen Heights and facing Georgia State University’s football stadium, which was formerly Turner Field. Stafford also plans to develop 11,000 square feet of retail and restaurant space at the corner of Hank Aaron Drive and Georgia Avenue. Construction on the hotel is expected to begin in the third quarter of 2020, with completion slated for early 2022.

“As we begin to look at what’s next for Summerhill, we are excited to partner with Stafford to bring a hotel to the neighborhood that will offer an authentic, in-town experience for guests,” said Jack Murphy, senior director at Carter.

“With unbeatable proximity to downtown Atlanta and Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport, and a growing mix of food, beverage and retail offerings in the area, Summerhill offers an outstanding location for all types of visitors, while maintaining a cozy, neighborhood feel,” he added.
