Carlyle Group Opts for One Vanderbilt, Takes 3 Floors

Alternative asset manager the Carlyle Group has leased three floors totaling 94,367 square feet at SL Green Realty Corp.’s upcoming One Vanderbilt Avenue office tower in East Midtown. The lease brings the 1,401-foot office tower to 37% leased, two years ahead of its planned 2020 opening.

“Carlyle’s decision to locate their primary New York City offices at this world-class building reaffirms our belief in East Midtown as the city’s premier business destination,” said SL Green CEO Marc Holliday.

“One Vanderbilt is a state-of-the art, amenity-driven building in the heart of Midtown that will provide a welcoming and productive environment for our employees,” added Christopher Finn, global head of operations at Carlyle.

Greg Lubar, Steven Rotter, Joseph Messina, Steven Spartin, Jessica Berkey and Andrew Lutzer of JLL represented Carlyle in the transaction. CBRE’s Robert Alexander, Ryan Alexander, Sarah Pontius and Emily Jones advised the landlord.
