Carlyle Group Adds a Floor to One Vanderbilt Occupancy

The Carlyle Group has expanded its 15-year lease to occupy an additional 32,592 square feet covering the entire 35th floor at SL Green Realty Corp.’s One Vanderbilt, now under construction. The global investment firm will now lease 127,744 square feet, or four full floors.

The property is now 54% leased ahead of its planned 2020 opening. Construction has reached the 73rd floor, the tower’s top office floor below the planned observatory deck.

“Global business leaders like the Carlyle Group see the advantage of One Vanderbilt’s world-class tenant and amenity experience, state-of-the-art office design and direct access to public transportation, all attributes that make East Midtown the center of commerce in New York,” said Marc Holliday, SL Green’s CEO.

JLL’s Steven Rotter, Joseph Messina, Greg Lubar, Steven Spartin, Jessica Berkey and Andrew Lutzer represented the Carlyle Group. CBRE’s Robert Alexander, Ryan Alexander, Emily Jones and Alex D’Amario advised ownership.
