CarLotz Drives into Texas, by Way of San Antonio

CarLotz, a consignment store for used cars and other vehicles, drove into San Antonio, opening its first Texas location. The Richmond, VA-headquartered company is occupying 22,000 square feet at 15447 W. Interstate 10.

CarLotz allows the seller to pay a flat fee. In return, the company prepares the vehicle for sale, markets it nationally, conducts test drives from its retail stores, negotiates a deal, then cuts the seller a check when the vehicle sells.

CarLotz San Antonio currently employs 10, with plans to expand to 30 full-time jobs on its sales and service floors. The retail center has enough space for 350 vehicles, as well as a service floor. “We’re excited to bring CarLotz to San Antonio,” said CarLotz’s Michal Bor. “The city’s dynamic growth, diverse car market, and welcoming community make it a perfect fit to grow our consignment model.”

The company also has retail locations in Florida and Illinois.
