Carl Hansen & Son Inks New Lease in Hammacher Schlemmer Building
Carl Hansen & Son, a Danish furniture company with a 115-year history, has leased 9,063 square feet of space at the Hammacher Schlemmer Building in Midtown.
The location at 145 East 57th Street will serve as Carl Hansen’s flagship retail store and showroom in the US. Since 1926, this space has been home to Hammacher Schlemmer, the internationally known American furniture retailer and catalog company founded in 1848. For nearly a century since 1926, this area had served as the headquarters for Hammacher Schlemmer, an American furniture retailer and catalog company established in 1848. The brand moved out in February 2023.
The landlord, BiC 57th Street LLC and 145 East 57th Street Associates LLC, was represented by ABS Partners Real Estate’s John Brod, Mark Tergesen and Benjamin Waller. Atlantic Retail NYC brokers Evan Clements and Amanda Keller represented the tenant.
