Captain D’s Ramps Up Southeast Expansion
Fast casual seafood chain Captain D’s has inked two franchise development agreements that will expand its footprint in key target markets throughout the Southeast, along with marking the brand’s entry into the South Florida market. New franchisee Josh Royal, president of Harborside Holdings Corporation, will drive the entry into South Florida with three new locations slated to open in late 2019.
Additionally, Captain D’s has signed a franchise development agreement with NFL retiree Donnell Thompson, who will bring a new location to Fayetteville, NC late next year. Thompson, who spent 10 years with the Indianapolis Colt, currently owns and operates several Denny’s restaurants in Georgia and the Carolinas.
Nashville-based Captain D’s has been pursuing an aggressive growth strategy, fueled in part by a new royalty inventive program to attract multi-unit operators. Currently, it operates more than 530 restaurants in 22 states.
