Capstone Development to Build Student Housing at the University of Virginia

The University of Virginia (UVA) has selected Capstone Development Partners to build new upper-class student housing on the campus.

Capstone’s partners for the project are Elkus Manfredi Architects and a joint-venture construction team of Hoar Construction and Hourigan. Scheduled to be completed for the fall 2027 term and housing approximately 780 students, the new residence hall project will feature apartment-style units.

Located in the Emmet Ivy Corridor at the intersection of Copeley Road and Ivy Road, the new housing development will comprise three new residential buildings, totaling 310,000 square feet, which will reach heights of five and six stories. The new housing will also feature a 19,000-square-foot dining and retail component.

The student housing project is a collaboration between UVA and Capstone Development Partners, which serves as a fee developer responsible for the design and construction of the buildings, with project financing provided by the University.
