Capital One Taps Kate Byford as Head of Agency Finance in D.C.

Capital One has named Kate Byford as head of Agency Finance in Bethesda. Byford joined Capital One three years ago as Senior Vice President and served as Head of Capital Markets and Multifamily Operating Officer for Capital One Multifamily Finance prior to assuming the role.

Prior to joining Capital One, Byford spent a decade working at Freddie Mac, where she was a Senior Director and Head of Multifamily Capital Markets Pricing. Before that, she worked for BB&T Capital Markets and Wachovia Securities. In her new role, Byford will report to Jamie Henderson, Executive Vice President and Head of Commercial Real Estate at Capital One.

“As a company, we are focused on taking our agency finance platform to the next level,” said Henderson. “Part of that strategy is tapping Kate Byford. With her strategic insight and record of collaborating across business lines, I know that Kate has the qualities we need to lead the platform forward and into the future.”
