Cannon Beach Lands McKinney Incentive Package

The McKinney City Council has agreed to set aside $4 million for infrastructure improvements to prepare for the Cannon Beach project. The project is expected to bring a resort-style hotel and surfing lagoon to McKinney. The $200 million mixed-use project will be located on 35 acres and will feature retail space with restaurants and family-focused entertainment offerings.

The surf lagoon will be 3-10.5 feet deep and feature a variety of waves. It will also include a 17-foot-deep cliff diving pool and a continuous wave pool. The beach adjacent to the wave pool will be open to the public.

The project is expected to provide more than 700 local jobs, generate over $2 billion in economic impact over the next 20 years, and welcome 300,000 visitors annually.
