Callbox Storage, headquartered in Grapevine, TX, is not an average self-storage business. Rather, the company, which launched in September 2016, allows customers to have their boxes and furniture picked up, and returned, all through a mobile phone app. The company’s competitive difference is that, unlike most self-storage companies, in which customers do all the work, Callbox Storage does the work of loading, unloading, packing and unpacking, instead.

Co-founder and CEO Kyle Bainter said he raised $5.2 million from investors, and plans to expand to Austin by the end of 2017. He said he also wants to expand to two or three additional Texas markets in 2018, as well as one outside the Lone Star State.
