California Theatre in San Diego Listed as Redevelopment Opportunity

CBRE has been retained to market and sell the California Theatre site, a more than half-acre of immediate redevelopment opportunity located at 1122 Fourth Ave. near the Civic Center in downtown San Diego. The firm’s Jason Kimmel and Kevin Nolen are the listing agents for the property.

According to CBRE, the California Theatre site is a strategic by-right redevelopment opportunity supported by fully satisfied historical requirements; an active Site Development Permit with no expiration; non-opposition from Save Our Heritage Organization to demolish and redevelop; and an expedited demolition and redevelopment pathway.

“This site represents a rare opportunity to leverage existing planning approvals to reshape a pivotal block in downtown San Diego on an expedited development timeline,” said Kimmel. “The California Theatre’s redevelopment will be key in advancing the City of San Diego’s long-term vision for the Civic Center district and support continued investment in the downtown core.”
