  • The Roxborough Group, a real estate investment firm headquartered in San Francisco, appointed Michael Pence as director of multifamily acquisitions. Pence will spearhead the origination, underwriting and execution of new multifamily investment opportunities across the company’s targeted markets. Previously, he served as COO of Belveron Partners, an affordable housing investment firm with $2 billion worth of assets under management.  
  • Tangram Interiors has made a number of promotions, including the advancement of Lora Apodaca to the role of director of business development for Southern California. Second, Ali McGee has been appointed as the new business developer for Tangram’s Newport Beach office. Third, Gary Vilinsky has transitioned to business development for Tangram Southern California after nearly three decades of dedicated service to the company. Lastly, Andrew Roche will serve as the company’s business development & data analyst in Orange County.  
  • The Hotel Association of Los Angeles (HALA) spotlighted hospitality team members at its second annual HALA Stars of the Industry Awards. This year’s award winners include: Community Service: Hoxton Downtown Los Angeles; Rising Star: Melissa Swieca – Hilton Los Angeles/Universal City; Housekeeping: Tracy Hu – JW Marriott Los Angeles L.A. LIVE; Outstanding Lodging Employee of the Year (Small/Medium Property): Hector Prieto – Hotel Casa Del Mar; Outstanding Lodging Employee of the Year (Large Property): Todd Hulce – Fairmont Century Plaza; Outstanding Manager of the Year (Small/Medium Property): Alexandra Cove – Cara Hotel; Outstanding Manager of the Year (Large Property): Jeri Zavala Tovar – Hotel Figueroa; and Outstanding General Manager of the Year: Javier Cano – The Ritz-Carlton, Los Angeles & JW Marriott Los Angeles L.A. LIVE. 
  • Russo’s New York Pizzeria & Italian Kitchen is set to open a multi-unit location in San Joaquin, Danville, Stockton and Modesto in the summer of 2024. The upscale pizza restaurants will be owned and operated by first-time franchisees Dr. Shaukat Shah and his son Asad Shah. Currently the Houston-based chain has a franchise in Clovis. 
  • Santa Ana-based Tina Marie Hernandez has launched the OMNI Construction Services website. The veteran broker-owner, who has been well-versed in the construction industry for 12 years, led the switch from residential to commercial construction in 2023. The company generated more than $1 million in revenue in less than six months. 
  • 420 Property, an online marketplace for cannabis real estate and business listings, has introduced iCannabis MLS. The new platform is strategically designed to complement Sacramento-based 420 Property’s current offerings, significantly enhancing the reach and exposure of listings to better serve individuals and businesses involved in the cannabis industry. 
  • San Jose-based Legence, a Blackstone Portfolio Company and N provider of energy efficiency and sustainability solutions for the built environment, has acquired P2S Inc., a Long Beach-based engineering, commissioning, and construction management firm specializing in critical sectors including higher education, federal and municipal institutions, healthcare facilities and data centers. Following California’s Climate Accountability Package and new SEC climate rulings that mandate and standardize corporate emissions disclosures, the acquisition of P2S will position Legence as a provider of high-performance, low-emissions buildings nationwide.  
  • Avangrid, Inc., a Portland, OR-based sustainable energy company and member of the Iberdrola Group, has begun construction at the Camino Solar Project in Kern County. Camino Solar is Avangrid’s first photovoltaic project in California with a capacity of 57 MW (44 MWac). The site will include 105,000 solar panels that are expected to generate the same amount of energy used by about 14,000 U.S. homes each year. Camino Solar is adjacent to Avangrid’s 189 MW Manzana Wind Farm, which reached commercial operation in 2012.
