  • Global law firm Greenberg Traurig, LLP has further strengthened its California real estate team with the strategic addition of Shareholder Robert J. Brown in its San Diego office. Brown, who joins from Procopio, Cory, Hargreaves & Savitch, brings more than 30 years of experience helping real estate industry clients navigate complex transactional tax issues across the U.S. 
  • ISS, a global leader in workplace experience and facility management with 350,000 employees globally and one of the top 40 largest private employers in the world, has promoted Wendy Funkhouser to division president, West region for ISS North America. In her new role, Funkhouser will lead the ISS North America business across the western U.S., overseeing service delivery, innovation and operations at 80 client sites throughout the region. 
  • Cotality, a leading global property information, analytics, and data-enabled solutions provider, has appointed Wayne Peacock as an independent member of its board. Peacock is the former CEO of USAA and brings 36 years of financial services leadership. 
  • JRW Realty has promoted Chris Thompson to VP. Thompson will be responsible for executing on JRW’s efforts to facilitate the acquisition of grocery-anchored centers and single-tenant net-leased properties on behalf of the firm’s institutional clients. 
  • South Coast Plaza appointed Tenley Zinke as executive director of marketing, succeeding Debra Gunn Downing, who will retire midyear following 27 years with the company. Zinke joins South Coast Plaza with an extensive background in marketing and communications across global luxury fashion and retail.  
  • EPIC Insurance Brokers & Consultants, a national insurance brokerage and consulting firm providing specialized services and products across select industries, has appointed Miranda Rodriguez as Program Development Leader within its national real estate practice.  In this newly created role, Rodriguez will focus on structuring and expanding EPIC’s real estate presence. She will oversee initiatives spanning program design, strategic partnerships and operational infrastructure, coordinating the firm’s existing real estate business while expanding access to expertise across the broader EPIC ecosystem.  
  • Ware Malcomb, an award-winning international design firm, has made a series of leadership updates in its Southern California region. Sergio Valentini has been promoted to regional VP. Principal Angela Ryan has been promoted to office leader in the firm’s San Diego office. Diane Guo has been promoted to director, regional business operations, Southern California. Eric Namisniak has been promoted to director, architecture in the firm’s Irvine office.  
  • Hamilton Zanze, a leading San Francisco-based multifamily real estate investment firm, today announced that Greens at Van de Water Apartments in Loveland, CO, has been contributed to the HZ Evergreen Fund, bringing the fund’s total holdings to nine properties. The latest addition broadens the Evergreen Fund’s presence across the Colorado, Kansas, Arizona, Oregon and Washington markets and strengthens its long-term strategy of generating stable income through a diversified mix of regions and asset types. 
  • In a city still rebuilding after last year’s destructive wildfires, MY Home Builders is partnering with area fire departments at select residential renovation sites across Los Angeles County to provide hands-on training inside real homes under renovation, offering firefighters practical experience in structures that closely resemble those in wildfire-prone neighborhoods. The initiative comes as wildfire preparedness remains a top concern across Southern California, particularly in designated High and Very High Fire Hazard Severity Zones. 
  • BioMed Realty, the largest private operator of real estate for the life science and technology industries, today announced that its Gateway of Pacific campus in South San Francisco has been named a local winner of the BOMA TOBY (The Outstanding Building of the Year) Award in the Life Science category. Presented by the Building Owners and Managers Association (BOMA), the TOBY Awards are among the most respected and comprehensive recognitions in commercial real estate.

His tenure in B2B publishing stretches back into the print era, and he has served as Editor in Chief on four national trade publications. Since 1999, Paul has volunteered as the newsletter editor of passenger rail advocacy groups (one national, one local).
