  • The Macerich Company announced that Daniel E. Swanstrom II will become CFO effective Nov. 16. Swanstrom previously served as CFO at two public REITs and as an investment banker with Morgan Stanley. Current CFO Scott Kingsmore will transition to the role of senior advisor effective and remain with the company through Dec. 31 to assist in the transition. 
  • AEG Global Partnerships, a division of AEG, has appointed Brenda Cruz as senior director of Global Partnerships Out of Home (OOH) at AEG. In this role, Cruz will oversee the OOH sales and advertising strategy for L.A. LIVE, AEG’s four-million-square-foot downtown Los Angeles sports and entertainment district, along with all other AEG properties with OOH opportunities. With more than 14 years in the OOH advertising industry, Cruz launched her career at CBS Outdoor, now OUTFRONT Media. 
  • Dealpatha real estate investment and deal management platform, appointed Ursula Sage as senior director of product management. Based out of Dealpath’s San Francisco headquarters, Sage will lead the company’s product development and operations. She brings more than a decade of progressive experience working in managerial roles within product teams at companies including Copper Inc., Appfolio, and Propertyware. At Appfolio and Propertyware, she contributed to both companies’ successful exits. Prior to Dealpath, she was director of product at Patreon, where she was a part of the company’s growth team.  
  • BXP, the largest publicly traded developer, owner, and manager of office properties in the U.S., announced the completion of Embarcadero Center’s new amenity space. Named Mosaic, the 11,000+-square-foot amenity experience, located in Embarcadero Center in San Francisco and designed by global architecture firm Gensler, offers clients access to ample coworking space, an outdoor garden and terrace, an elevated concierge service, and advanced technology capabilities, according to BXP. The new amenity suite will take the place of the current offering at Four Embarcadero Center, which will close later this year. 
  • Alexan NoHo West, a mixed-use community in West Hollywood designed by leading architecture firm AO, received notable architectural awards in 2024. The awards were presented by the Gold Nuggets and Engineering News Record. Awards received include: Gold Nuggets – Best Mixed-Use Project – Award of Merit; and Engineering News Record  – 2024 California Best Projects (Residential/Hospitality) – Award of Merit.
  • The Swig Company, a privately-owned real estate investor and operator who focuses on urban office and multi-family properties, is seeking an Asset Manager in San Francisco, CA.   The Asset Manager will oversee a subset of office/commercial assets across Northern California and the Pacific Northwest and will oversee third party leasing teams.  The ideal candidate will have at least 7 years of CRE experience with at least 4 years in Asset Management.  Executive search firm RETS Associates is handling the search.  Inquiries and resumes can be sent to [email protected]

Paul Bubny serves as Senior Content Director for Connect Commercial Real Estate, a role to which he brings 16-plus years’ experience covering the commercial real estate industry and 30-plus years in business-to-business journalism. His tenure in B2B publishing stretches back into the print era, and he has served as Editor in Chief on four national trade publications. Since 1999, Paul has volunteered as the newsletter editor of passenger rail advocacy groups (one national, one local).
