  • JLL Capital Markets has strengthened its Southern California multifamily investment sales platform with the addition of Dillon Bergum as senior director. Throughout his career, Bergum has closed nearly $6 billion in transaction volume across major markets, including Los Angeles, New York and throughout California. Before joining JLL, Bergum served as a member of Newmark’s West Coast Capital Markets group, where he focused on investment sales across all asset classes in Southern California.  
  • JLL has also hired 13-year Orange County commercial real estate veteran Pat Ryan as SVP. Ryan will specialize in local and multi-market corporate real estate transaction strategy. 
  • Passco Companies, a leading national real estate investment firm, hired Thomas (Tom) Voekler as its new chief legal officer, effective Dec. 8. Voekler will oversee Passco’s legal, risk, compliance, and regulatory functions while supporting the company’s strategic growth initiatives, governance framework and executive leadership team. 
  • Trevor Roots has joined Telescent, a leading manufacturer of Optical Circuit Switches and automated fiber patch-panels for network and data center operators, as CFO. With extensive experience leading finance operations for venture capital and private equity-backed technology companies, Roots brings invaluable financial leadership and strategic expertise to Telescent as the company continues its expansion in the hyperscale data center and AI infrastructure markets.

Paul Bubny serves as Senior Content Director for Connect Commercial Real Estate, a role to which he brings 16-plus years’ experience covering the commercial real estate industry and 30-plus years in business-to-business journalism. In this capacity, he oversees daily operations while also reporting on both local/regional markets and national trends, covering individual transactions across all property types, as well as delving into broader subject matter. He produces 7-10 daily news stories per day and works with the Connect team and clients to develop longer-form content, ranging from Q&As to thought-leadership pieces. Prior to joining Connect, Paul was Managing Editor for both Real Estate Forum and GlobeSt.com at American Lawyer Media, where he oversaw operations at both publications while also producing daily news and feature-length articles. His tenure in B2B publishing stretches back into the print era, and he has served as Editor in Chief on four national trade publications. Since 1999, Paul has volunteered as the newsletter editor of passenger rail advocacy groups (one national, one local).
